About Saint Leo University

Saint Leo University is a private, Catholic university that nonetheless has a long tradition of welcoming students of all faiths. Established in 1889 by the Order of Saint Benedict of Florida, it is the oldest Catholic institution of higher learning in the state, with its main campus located about 30 miles north of Tampa in Central Florida. According to U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” list, Saint Leo is consistently ranked among the top universities in the South. In addition to the central campus, the university boasts 35 regional locations across seven states and a robust online presence, allowing enrollment to reach almost 15,000 across the various degree levels and programs offered. And because many of the regional locations are housed on military bases, Saint Leo is also one of the country’s leading providers of higher education to members of the U.S. Military and veterans.
